Australia build big lead against England

SYDNEY: Chris Rogers scored his second century of the series to tighten Australia's grip on the final Ashes Test as they closed in on a 5-0 series whitewash over England in Sydney on Sunday.

Scorecard

The veteran left-hander cut part-time off-spinner Kevin Pietersen to the boundary rope for his third Test century -- all of them against England.

Rogers' hundred came off 143 balls with 14 fours, and he shared in a fifth-wicket partnership of 109 with George Bailey, who was dismissed shortly after first-hour drinks when he top-edged Stuart Broad to Scott Borthwick for 46.

Rogers scored 116 in the second innings of the fourth Test in Melbourne.

Bailey's dismissal left Australia 200/5, a lead of 371 runs.
