Virat Kohli was adjudged out caught behind on the first ball of the fifth day even though the Dale Steyn delivery went off his shoulder.
Steyn bowled one short of length on the off-stump channel and Kohli pushed at it with minimum foot movement, the ball carried through off his shoulder low to AB de Villiers behind the stumps who pouched it safely, but umpire Rod Tucker raised his finger much to the shock of Kohli (11).
The day's play started with Pujara and Kohli resuming the Indian second innings.
Day 4 was also a very good one for South Africa as Jacques Kallis scored his 45th Test century and Robin Peterson tonked the Indian bowlers all over the park as they got a lead of 166 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja registered his best career figures as India bowled out South Africa out for 500 in their first innings.
India then made a cautious start to their second innings, as Murali Vijay got out early.
Shikhar Dhawan and Pujara then added 45 runs before Faf du Plessis pulled out a blinder to dismiss Dhawan.
Kohli and Pujara then did well to see off the short period to reduce the South African lead to 98 runs.
