This comment, written by a fan on a cricket website, became a talking point. Wankhede waited two sessions for the grandeur to present itself and when it finally did, each ball played successfully only chipped off bits from the growing lump in the fans' hearts. If you missed it on Thursday, catch it yet again Friday morning.
A rare family outing
Sachin Tendulkar's immediate family - his mother, brothers, wife and children - have never been around, all of them together, to watch a single international match of his in all these years. But this one moment was far bigger on the scale of emotion, love and togetherness, to be missed on and they all arrived at the Wankhede along with Tendulkar's famous coach, Ramakant Achrekar, on Thursday.
The President's Box at the MCA awaited them as they quietly watched the proceedings from inside the glass box, perhaps unaware of the frenzy that was on in the stands and outside the stadium.
Wife Anjali and daughter Sara, in particular, caught the attention of television cameras that kept them in their zoom for hours. It turned out to be a precious family moment.
A new look bat for the master in final Test
Tendulkar's willow on Thursday sported a different look as the manufacturer's sticker on the blade as well as the grip featured the tri-colour. Tendulkar, who usually wears a black grip on his bat, had a tricolour around his sponsor's logo, specially designed for his final appearance.
"Sachin wanted to dedicate his career to the country and use his Adidas-ST bat as a symbolic representation of his commitment, Tushar Goculdas, Brand Director, Adidas India said. "Over the last few days, we worked very closely with the master to create this special bat featuring the tri-colour, with which he will play his final Test."
MCA removes Kohli's hoardings from Wankhede
Left embarrassed after Virat Kohli's prominent advertising billboards overshadowed Tendulkar's pictures, the Mumbai Cricket Association removed the rising star's hoardings from the Wankhede on Thursday.
The MCA has 51 different pictures of Tendulkar with his Test centuries and names of oppositions inscribed on rectangular billboards, albeit indecipherable, which are put on the perimeter of the Wankhede Stadium roof.
