CAPE TOWN (South Africa): Returning Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and opted to bat in the first one-day international against South Africa at Newlands on Sunday.
Misbah returned for the tourists after the drawn T20 series, while Pakistan handed ODI debuts to allrounder Bilawal Bhatti and seamer Anwar Ali.
AB de Villiers is back to captain South Africa and veteran allrounder Jacques Kallis was picked for his first ODI in nearly two years. Opener Graeme Smith also returned to the side after recovering from the post-concussion syndrome he sustained when he was hit on the helmet by a bouncing delivery in the two teams' recent test series in United Arab Emirates.
South Africa beat Pakistan 4-1 when the countries met in a one-day series at the UAE earlier this month.
