In an interview to a cricket website soon after his return from France where he was training with Zaheer Khan after being sidelined from the Indian Test and ODI teams, Yuvraj stressed how badly he wanted to return to international cricket.
At the nets in Rajkot on Wednesday, one could see his signature shots when he batted. Coach Duncan Fletcher, who was watching Yuvraj from behind the nets offered him a few tips.
Team India skipper MS Dhoni knows the importance of a Yuvraj Singh in the line-up and said: "He is a match-winner and we all know that. He's proved himself whenever questions have been raised. He performs well in big matches. He does well in tough series. We are hoping that he will come back strong."
Australian captain George Bailey who was watching some of Yuvraj's past knocks on TV the previous night said: "He is a dangerous player and you have to be wary of his power."
