DUBAI: Pakistan, fighting to save the second Test, were two for two at lunch on the third day after South Africa piled up 517 in their first innings in Dubai on Friday.
Pakistan trail by 416 runs after conceding a huge 418-run lead in the first innings.
They lost opener Shan Masood off the fourth ball for nought to paceman Dale Steyn and in the next over Khurram Manzoor was out for his second duck of the match. Azhar Ali was unbeaten on two.
South Africa lost AB de Villiers for 164 and Graeme Smith on 234 after they put on a record 338-run partnsership. For Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal finished with 6-151.
Pakistan lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning last week's first Test in Abu Dhabi by seven wickets.
