Finch hit a six and 7 fours in his fiery knock.
Openers Finch and Hughes brought up the Australian fifty in the 11th over.
The start came after Australian captain George Bailey won the toss and chose to bat.
After winning the toss Bailey said that 300 will be great and it will put a lot of pressure on the Indian batsmen and support their bowlers. They are keen on going to 2-0, he added that it will be fantastic.
After losing the toss Dhoni said he would have bowled first anyway, considering the dew factor later on in the innings. Dhoni said that he feels that the ball here comes on nicely to the bat. India are looking to level the series and then take the rest as a five-match series, Dhoni added.
