India 'A', who lost the first Test in Mysore primarily because of their decision to insert the opposition, will now take a call only on the morrow.
"The practice pitches had bounce and carry. If it rains tonight (Tuesday night), as is expected, the main pitch could be conducive to seam movement. We'll take a call on the team composition and the toss after assessing these factors," said Pujara.
The Indian team already looks a different side from the one that crashed in Mysore. Manpreet Juneja, who batted outstandingly in that game, is not around as he battles for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy in Chennai. But there are a number of India discards in the team.
Virender Sehwag, an eternal crowd favourite, will be the cynosure without doubt. He took a blow on his finger while batting in the nets on Tuesday but Pujara insisted that it would not deter Sehwag from turning out.
Gautam Gambhir too looks like he is raring to go. Veteran Mohammed Kaif, who has a Ranji Trophy century on this very pitch, would be hoping to prolong a career that has meandered without quite going anywhere.
Meanwhile, Pujara revealed that Kerala's Jagadeesh was an option to open the batting. He refused to divulge whether he is a cover for Sehwag or the latter would bat lower down the order. Incidentally, Sehwag, in recent times, has expressed a desire to bat in the middle-order.
Zaheer Khan's return too would be keenly followed. He's been out of the game for a while. But he has worked himself back into fitness and if he is able to use the new ball and the old one with the proficiency of the past the West Indies might well have a testing time.
The inclusion of pace ace Fidel Edwards will be a force multiplier for the visitors.
