Steyn strikes, Chennai lose Vijay early

NEW DELHI: Hyderabad pacer Dale Steyn struck in the first over to get Chennai opener Murali Vijay caught by Shikhar Dhawan at slip after hosts were invited to bat in the Champions League T20 clash at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi on Thursday.

Steyn sent back Vijay on the second delivery of the first over without a run on board.

Both the teams are unchanged from their previous matches. Brimming with confidence after a perfect start to their campaign, star-studded Chennai Super Kings will start as favourites.

Two-time IPL champions, CSK boast of a star-studded line up with the likes of India skipper Dhoni, Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Michael Hussey and Dwayne Bravo around whom the CSK batting will revolve.

Hussey, Raina and Bravo set up CSK's run chase the other day with some scintillating strokeplay and the trio would be eyeing a repeat performance against the Sunrisers.

Having failed in the previous match, Dhoni is due for a big knock in front of his home crowd.

Chennai Super Kings: Michael Hussey, Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, Subramaniam Badrinath, Dwayne Bravo, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Albie Morkel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jason Holder, Mohit Sharma

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Parthiv Patel, Shikhar Dhawan, JP Duminy, Hanuma Vihari, Thisara Perera, Darren Sammy, Ashish Reddy, Karan Sharma, Amit Mishra, Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma
