"My son has played his first club match. I didn't have pressure from anyone to ask about following my father's footsteps. Humble request to allow him to live life like a normal 14-year-old so he can fall in love with the sport," said Tendulkar who was also feted by the Sports Journalists' Association of Mumbai for his remarkable feat of notching up 100 international centuries.
Arjun played his first match in the Kanga league representing Young Parsee Cricket Club earlier on Sunday. His debut, however, was so impressive as he lasted just 12 balls at the crease.
During the event Tendulkar was candid about questions regarding his own career which has spanned almost 24 years. "There have been criticism and fiction sometimes. But those are few and far between. As a package no complaints," said Tendulkar.
