NEW DELHI: The Highveld Lions-Perth Scorchers Champions League Twenty20 match has been abandoned due to heavy rain at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.
The match was called off by the match officials, without a single ball being bowled, as the ground turned into a lake due to heavy down pour soon after Highveld Lions captain Alviro Petersen won the toss and chose to bowl.
Scorchers had a forgettable inaugural CLT20 season last year, registering just one victory, apart from being besieged by off-field problems.
