They romped home by a whopping 162 runs to take a 1-0 lead over India 'A' in the unofficial three-Test series.
Batting in the fourth innings on this dubious pitch was never going to be easy. The slowness of the track was an ally, but batting on the surface needed a mindset adept at forgetting the 'unplayable' balls.
Batsmen rattled by these deliveries invariably attempted extravagant shots off other deliveries and often paid the price. But not Gujarat's young batsman Juneja who scored 70 off 193 balls. He was a thorn in the West Indies side.
Earlier, West Indies declared at the overnight score and set India a target of 315. They made their predatory intentions instantly clear when they opened the bowling with left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.
For a while, openers KL Rahul (9) and Jiwanjot Singh (24) seemed comfortable but as the morning progressed it became clear that the match could go only one way.
The West Indies' three-pronged spin attack was in business right through the day and picked up all the wickets. Miller was the pick of the bowlers.
His five wickets included that of Juneja, who was last out, trapped in front while attempting to paddle sweep in an effort to retain strike.
Veerasammy Perumal (3 for 56) and Narsingh Deonarine (2 for 29) were the other successful bowlers and they must be pleased as punch that Indian pitches are tailor-made for their art.
Brief scores:
West Indies 'A': 429 and 130 for 3 decl beat India 'A': 245 and 152 all out in 85.4 overs (Jiwanjot Singh 24, Manpreet Juneja 70; Nikita Miller 5 for 40, Veerasammy Permaul 3 for 56, Narsingh Deonarine 2 for 29) by 162 runs.
