Kuhn (31) was the first to be dismissed when he was caught by Daniel Christian off the bowling of Ben Cutting. Soon after, Titans skipper Davids (39) fell short of his crease and was run out.
The Davids-Kuhn duo stitched a swift 69-run partnership for the second wicket just after Titans lost opener Jacques Rudolph early to Matthew Gale.
Rudolph (1) was caught by Chris Sabburg at cover point almost immediately after the match began post Brisbane Heat captain James Hopes winning the toss and deciding to bowl.
Earlier, rain delayed the toss of the match by one hour and therefore the mid-innings break will be reduced to 10 minutes. There will be no overs reduced.
Both teams have lost their opening matches, though in contrasting styles. While Brisbane Heat didn't manage to achieve a relatively small target of 136 set by Trinidad & Tobago and lost by 25 runs, the Titans ran into a red-hot Chennai Super Kings batting lineup which chased down 186 runs with ease.
The Titans, inspired by a brilliant 77 by AB de Villiers, did put in a good performance with the bat but then came a cropper with the ball. The Titans will hope that AB provides another hurricane knock.
On the other hand, Brisbane Heat are missing some key players. While they have lost Mitchell Johnson to the Mumbai Indians, Ashes hero Ryan Harris is out injured.
Teams:
Brisbane Heat: James Hopes (Capt.), Joe Burns, Peter Forrest, Daniel Christian, Chris Lynn, Chris Hartley (wk), Ben Cutting, Chris Sabburg, Nathan Hauritz, Matthew Gale, Alister McDermott.
Titans: Henry Davids (Capt.), Jacques Rudolph, AB de Villiers, Farhaan Behardien, David Wiese, Roelof van der Merwe, Mangaliso Mosehle, Heino Kuhn, Morne Morkel, Marchant de Lange, Rowan Richards.
