Batting lets Sunrisers Hyderabad down

RANCHI: The story of Sunrisers Hyderabad's batting is becoming annoyingly familiar. A great opening partnership followed by mediocre shot selection and a flourish at the end that is good but fails to achieve the par score.

The Titans made the target of 146 look even smaller, winning by eight wickets in 16.3 overs. Just like their rivals, the SA side had a superb start, scoring 52 without loss in Powerplay.

Captain Henry Davids led from the front (64 off 42 balls; 4x7, 6x4) and his opening partner Jacques Rudolph (49 off 42 balls; 4x3, 6x2) extended the perfect helping hand.

Davids also bowled four economical overs, picking up a wicket. While the Hyderabad middle order failed to capitalize on the start provided, Davids got out when the job was almost finished, with the scoreboard reading 112 in the 13th over. Rudolph stayed on to wrap up things with the middle order.
