Bresnan out of fifth test with back injury
Tim Bresnan was ruled out of the season with a stress fracture in his lower back. He will be unable to battle in the remaining Ashes test and home series, ECB and Wales announced on Thursday.
Tim Bresnan provided his side noble performance in the series by picking up ten wickets and also was firm with batting as he batted majestically, making 45 runs in England’s second innings to boost his side give a chase of 299 to the Aussies, who failed to triumph as England paved it’s way to series victory.
Bresnan provided the key wicket of southpaw David Warner and then he provided Broad to accomplish his task with his match-winning performance. The 28-year Bresnan’s first match that he misses will be the final and fifth of Ashes series. Whether or not, he plays in Ashes starting in November, is yet to be seen.
At Chester-le-Street in the fourth test, Bresnan took two wickets for 36, removing Warner for 71 and then snaring Watson at two after Broad completed the day by picking six wickets and guide England to a triumph. Nevertheless, Bresnan will also miss the two T20s and only ODI against Ireland and then five-match ODI series against Australia along with the fifth test that will start on 21 August.
England have two main choices that may replace Bresnan – Steven Finn and Chris Tremlett. Tremlett has an opportunity to revive his test career, last he played against Pakistan. While Finn probably be recalled again after he played the first test for the side.
