Bangalore, July 30: Parupalli Kashyap is aiming to take his Bangalore team Banga Beats to the finals of the inaugural Indian Badminton League (IBL).
Banga Beats owners BOP on Tuesday introduced the Indian players at a glittering ceremony in Bangalore. Banga Beats consists of Kashyap, Hu Yun, Tai Tze Ying, Carolina Marin, Carsten Morgensen, Arvind Bhat, Akshay Diwalkar, Aparna Balan, Aditya Prakash and J Meghana.
"I am extremely happy to be a part and lead the most talented and dynamic team in the IBL. With such excellent team and experienced coach we are aiming for finals of the league. Would really like to play in front of Bangalore crowd which always had appreciated and encouraged badminton and produced world class players in the past," Banga Beats' icon player Kashyap said.
Kashyap who reached his best ranking of world number six in the last 12 months, was optimistic about a superlative performance of the players at the upcoming World Championships that begin from August 3 in China.
"I have seen the players work tirelessly for months for World Championship. I am very optimistic that few Indians are capable of causing upset at the draw and it will be icing on the cake - if Banga Beats players get the best from Indian contingent," he added.
Banga Beats chief coach U Vimal Kumar said, "I feel very proud to coach such talented team and express my gratitude to BOP Group to provide me my dream team for the Indian Badminton League. Our team is a rare combination of young, aggressive and experience which would stand out in the crunch situation".

$1 million worth IBL will be held across six cities with six teams from August 14 to 31.
