"I have played cricket long enough to know that there is never an end for anybody. Things can change quickly. You never know when they can perform and come back. It does get difficult when those in the team are doing well, but those (seniors) who are out have enough class to bounce back," the former India skipper said at a promotional event.
Dravid added: "It was a fantastic tournament for India. They played excellent cricket and were dominant. Skipper MS Dhoni did a fine job. It was great to see youngsters live up to the potential."
Does he feel this is the team for the 2015 World Cup?
"You would like to believe that...but these youngsters have to keep performing. They have to build on this start," he said.
Dravid also praised the national selection panel led by Sandeep Patil.
"Hats off to the selectors. They have been brave and have taken some tough calls. These boys played some of the finest cricket by an Indian team in an overseas tournament."
Dravid also felt India needed the thumping win in the wake of the spot-fixing scandal.
"We needed a good, positive story in times like these. The last couple of weeks saw plenty of positive stories in our cricket."
