Delhi cops get cold feet on Raj Kundra?

NEW DELHI: After creating a buzz over Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra and his celebrity wife Shilpa Shetty betting in the IPL, it seems the Delhi Police have developed cold feet.

They have written a letter to their Jaipur counterparts saying the couple "had bet in a match which happened in Jaipur" and so action should be taken against them there.

But then, none of the IPL 6 matches probed by Delhi Police involving the three arrested cricketers - S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan - took place in Delhi either.

The special cell officers say they have shared the statement of Kundra's friend Umesh Goenka, recorded under Section 164 CrPC in front of a magistrate, with the Jaipur police.

Meanwhile, the special sell arrested a bookie-Jitendra Jain alias Jeetu- who allegedly cracked betting deals before every IPL match.

"The statement by Goenka would help Jaipur police in going ahead with a formal probe," said an officer.
