Dalmiya wants no cheerleaders in IPL

NEW DELHI: Newly-appointed BCCI's working group head Jagmohan Dalmiya has begun the clean-up in the scandal-hit IPL, saying that he would prefer no cheerleaders and strategic timeouts during IPL matches, Times Now reported.

Jagmohan Dalmiya on Monday said that former BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale has said that he will not withdraw his resignation.

"We are waiting for former BCCI treasurer Mr Ajay Shirke to respond," Dalmiya added.

"I will leave no stone unturned to clean up cricket. I was given a responsibility, and I thought I could not shy away," said Dalmiya while addressing a news conference at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

"I may or may not represent BCCI in the ICC meetings and if there is a vacancy in the BCCI, it will be filled up," Dalmiya further said.

"Owners will be held accountable if the players indulge in illegal activities in IPL," said Dalmiya.

"Banning after match parties could be one of the solutions to clean up the game," added Dalmiya.
