West Indies lost plot after good start and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Indian pacer Umesh Yadav dismissed Dwayne Bravo after off-spinner R Ashwin got rid of his brother Darren Bravo to reduce West Indies to 163/6 in their Champions trophy clash at Oval.
In the 38th over, Yadav got Dwayne Bravo caught by Ravindra Jadeja after his 40-ball-25.
Darren Bravo's fight was ended by Ashwin after his steady knock of 35 that came off 83 deliveries.
After a good second-wicket stand, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Johnson Charles, Marlon Samuels and Ramnaresh Sarwan in quick succession to reduce West Indies to 109/3 .
Jadeja first trapped both Charles and Samuels (1) and then got Sarwan (1) caught by skipper MS Dhoni in his three consecutive overs.
Charles (60) put up a 78-run partnership with Darren Bravo and boosted the West Indies innings with the help of 7 boundaries and 2 sixes after Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed the dangerous Chris Gayle early.
Bhuvneshwar's short length ball completely bamboozled Gayle (21) as it forced the West Indian to get thick edge straight to R Ashwin in the slips.
Earlier, Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl saying that it's overcast and they are looking to exploit the conditions.
Windies skipper Dwayne Bravo said that they would have bowled first too and added that they would look to forget the conditions and look to bat well and put up a good total.
It's a bit overcast at The Oval and there is a tinge of green grass on the surface. It's going to be a two paced pitch. Not going to be a good time for the batsmen. According to Sunil Gavaskar, expect a low scoring affair.
Both the teams have won their opening group matches in contrasting fashion, and know very well that a win will almost guarantee a spot in the last four stage of the tournament.
India look stronger on paper and their batting looks in awesome form with three back-to-back 300-plus scores in conditions where the ball has done a bit early in the innings.
On the other hand, in spite of their enormous potential, the West Indies remain a fickle lot.
