With operation clean-up of the richest cricket league in the world on the agent, the board members are likely to deliberate on a host of reforms. The board will also look to ensure that IPL team owners are made more responsible and also decide on how to deal with Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra who is now caught in a betting row.
Ahead of the crucial meet, BCCI officials made it clear that there was 'no proof' against Kundra but the BCCI probe commission will still investigate all possible angles to determine whether the claims made by Delhi Police on Kundra are valid in a court of law or not.
As reported by TOI on Saturday, the working committee members may suspend Kundra pending enquiry. Sources said that the board is also expected to discuss Gurunath Meiyappan's role in Chennai Super Kings and the way forward to come out of the betting-fixing crisis. "There are many suggestions which have come from the board members. We are going to discuss them in detail," an official said.
Based on the report to be submitted by its anti-corruption and security unit chief Ravi Sawani regarding the spot-fixing scandal, the board could also take a call on banning the tainted Royals trio -- S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.
Another important decision to be taken will be regarding the post of treasurer which is lying vacant after Ajay Shirke resigned from the post. Sources said that the board is yet to zero in on a name which will be acceptable to all members. The working committee will also ratify the appointment of interim president Jagmohan Dalmiya and interim secretary Sanjay Patel in the meeting.
Meanwhile, a website reported that board president N Srinivasan is likely to be dropped from the disciplinary committee which also has Arun Jaitley and Niranjan Shah, both vice-presidents of the BCCI.
