Yuvraj Singh may find it tough to return

Yuvraj Singh's omission from the Indian Champions Trophy team can be bad news for the left-hander in the long run. The Punjab player, who fought back from cancer, has already been dropped from the Test team and now that he doesn't feature in the ODI team as well might mean the end of his international career.

The new BCCI selection committee has already taken a hard stance and they are looking to make a team for the 2015 World Cup. The likes of Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh had already been dropped and now by dropping Yuvi, Sandeep Patil & Co have given the indication that they are looking to form a new nucleus of the team.

Yuvraj, of course, let himself down during the ongoing T20 tournament when he failed to get going in any of the matches. His fielding, too, hasn't been top class and the selectors might have taken that into consideration as well. The 32-year-old also had his share of injuries of late and wasn't consistent in the chances that he got for India since his return to international cricket after fighting back from cancer.

The likes of Dinesh Karthick and Rohit Sharma, who have been selected for the Champions Trophy, have been extremely consistent in the ongoing T20 tournament, and with the likes of Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav and Ajinkya Rahane getting better by the day, Yuvi is bound to feel the heat in the days to come.
