Mumbai will be under pressure: Dravid

JAIPUR: Showing emotions is not something Rahul Dravid promotes on field. But Wednesday was special. After Rajasthan Royals made it to the Qualifiers of the Indian T20 League after five years, an otherwise calm and composed Royals captain couldn't control his emotions.

"It's not easy to come and win after a difficult week, but I'm happy that we could come back in the line," Dravid said in the post match presentation ceremony.

Despite putting up a good show on the field, the last week was a turbulent one for the Royals, off it. With three of their players being caught for their involvement in spot fixing, it wasn't easy to bounce back. But they did it in style.

Riding on Brad Hodge's unbeaten 54, the Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets, and captain Dravid credits Australian Hodge for the achievement. "Hodge was brilliant today. It's been a pleasure to play with him for the last couple of years. He is one of the good finishers of the game, and if needed, he can bat up the order and score even more, but we need him as a finisher," Dravid said.

"We didn't bat too well in that period between the seventh and the tenth over, but it's a young side and they will learn. Hodge put his hand up and got us through," the skipper added.

But then, playing against Mumbai Indians a couple of days later won't be an easy task. And, no one knows it better than the Royals skipper.

"Mumbai Indians are a very good side. But in the Qualifiers, they will be under pressure. With so many big players in their side, it won't be good if they fail to win. In many ways we have a moneyball team and will look to get going at Eden Gardens," Dravid pointed out.

The Wall, who considers Eden Gardens as one of his favourite grounds, also hoped that his men will be able to produce a good show. "It's always been a lucky ground for me, and hopefully it will help us in the next two games," a confident Dravid said.

After five years of wait, the winners of the first edition of the League are again back in the final round. And, the way the team bounced back, would surely make the captain a lot relieved.

After days of darkness, Dravid's men have finally found some sunshine!
