Mumbai set 140-run target for Chennai

NEW DELHI: Late show by Rohit Sharma (39* off 30) and Harbhajan Singh (25* off 11) inspired Mumbai Indians to score 139/5 against Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 6 match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Earlier, precarious Mumbai Indians batsmen were jolted by Chennai Super Kings all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo.

Jadeja drew first blood for the Super Kings when he caught Sachin Tendulkar (15) plumb after Mumbai Indians got off to a slow start.

Soon after, West Indian Bravo caught his compatriot Dwayne Smith (22) off his own bowling when the Mumbai batsman got a wicked top-edge.

Tendulkar and Smith put up a 40-run stand for the opening wicket after Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat in bright and sunny conditions.

Jadeja then stuck twice in quick succession to dismiss the dangerous duo of Kieron Pollard (1) and Dinesh Karthik (23) when both the Mumbai batsmen were caught by Suresh Raina in the outfield.

Ravichandran Ashwin then joined the wicket taking party when he got the better of Ambati Rayudu's stumps and thereby foiled all plans that Rayudu (10) had to steady the innings.

Mumbai Indians head into this match with just one change as seamer Pawan Suyal replaces Dhawal Kulkarni, who misses out due to an injury.

On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings bring in Ben Laughlin in place of Albie Morkel.

Chennai are coming into the match with seven win on the trot and they are the only team to have won all their four away games this season, so Mumbai have a task cut out even as they had beaten the same rivals when they met first time.

Mumbai's three-match winning streak has been snapped with the seven-wicket defeat against Hyderabad in their previous game but their batting appears to be settled and has delivered in the four home games.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, have been in destructive form, having remained unbeaten in their last seven games and most recently defeating Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs.

Teams:

Mumbai Indians: Dwayne Smith, Sachin Tendulkar, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Rohit Sharma (Capt.), Kieron Pollard, Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga, Pragyan Ojha, Pawan Suyal.

Chennai Super Kings: Murali Vijay, Michael Hussey, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (Capt. & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Subramaniam Badrinath, Chris Morris, Ben Laughlin, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohit Sharma.
