Ashish Nehra inflicted second blow on Punjab by getting Azhar Mahmood (9) caught by Kaul with scorecard reading 86.
Irfan Pathan gave Delhi first success by removing Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist after a solid 60-run opening stand in the IPL clash at Dharamsala.
Pathan struck in the eighth over to take a brilliant return catch of Gilchrist after his fiery knock of 42 that came off just 26 deliveries and was studded with five boundaries and two sixes.
After being invited to bat, Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh got Kings XI Punjab off to a good start.
The duo guided Punjab past 50 in 5.4 overs as Delhi struggled for first breakthrough. Gilchrist sliced Nehra for a six at square leg to bring side's fifty.
Delhi made three changes, bringing in Morne Morkel, Jayawardene and CM Gautam. Punjab have brought in Praveen Kumar.
