While Raina scored an unbeaten 82 off 42 balls with the help of 5 sixes and as many boundaries, Hussey invincible 86 (58) was studded with ten boundaries and two sixes.
Both batsmen shared an unbeaten 140 run stand for the second wicket, keeping Mumbai Indians at bay in the clash for final berth.
Electing to bat Chennai got off to a brisk start as Hussey and Murali Vijay shared a solid 52 runs stand for the first wicket.
The duo took the side past 50 in the seventh over. In the eighth over, Kieron Pollard gave Mumbai first success by getting Vijay (23) caught at deep square leg by Dwayne Smith.
Raina then joined Hussey and brutalised Mumbai with his big hits.
Sachin Tendulkar will again miss the game for Mumbai as he is yet to recover from a sprain in his hand. Mumbai have made wholesome changes for the crucial match.
They have brought in Dwayne Smith, Mitchell Johnson, Munaf Patel and Prgyan Ojha, leaving out Glenn Maxwell, Dhawal Kulkarni, Rishi Dhawan and Nathan Coulter-Nile.
There is only change for Chennai with Albie Morkel taking place of Jason Holder.
