The Daredevils got off to a bad start as they lost skipper Mahela Jayawardene early when Ishant Sharma struck in his second over for Hyderabad.
Jayawardene (11) failed to make an impact as Ishant, whose first over was a maiden, caught the Delhi skipper plumb after Delhi won the toss and decided to bat.
Soon after, Sammy put Delhi further on the backfoot when he got the better of Sehwag's (8) stumps, who seemed to be struggling to hit the ball ever since the start of the match.
Delhi Daredevils head into this match with two changes. Jeevan Mendis replaces Ben Rohrer, who has gone home to get married, and Morne Morkel has been dropped to accommodate Johan Botha.
Two teams which have only recently recovered from poor form will square off with both sides aiming to continue the winning run and stay alive in the event.
The match is crucial for both the teams are in the lower half of the points table with Delhi being second last right now.
DD have six points from 10 matches, while SH have bagged 12 from the same number of matches.
The Sunrisers have enjoyed a dream run at home, winning all the matches played here so far.
