Skipper Virat Kohli, who conjured a dominating unbeaten 47-ball 93, helped RCB bounce back to winning ways and probably for the first time in three seasons, they proved that they could win matches even when Chris Gayle fails.
Chasing a stiff 162 for a victory, RCB lost openers Mayank Agarwal (29) and Chris Gayle (13) early, but Kohli dashed Sunrisers' hopes of another victory as the Bangalore side cruised home with 14 balls to spare.
Kohli's two crucial partnerships, 66 (off 34 balls) for the third-wicket with AB de Villiers and the unconquered 49 with Moises Henriques powered RCB to victory. Kohli's knock was studded with 11 boundaries and four sixes.
Replacing the struggling Tillakaratne Dilshan, De Villiers, who joined the squad on Tuesday morning after his domestic commitments back home in South Africa, smashed a run-a-ball 15 before falling to Cameron White.
