Pune Warriors stumble in chase of 165

Chennai paceman Mohit Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief as he dismissed Pune skipper Aaron Finch and T Suman in the last two balls of the third over.

Mohit picked up his third wicket in the form of Yuvraj Singh, who scored only 5 runs. Pune were tottering at 29/3 when they lost Robin Uthappa (10) who ran himself out in search of a cheeky single.

Earlier, a decent innings by Suresh Raina (63* off 50) and a blistering knock by skipper MS Dhoni (45* off 16) at the fag end helped Chennai set a 165-run target for Pune.

The Raina-Dhoni duo put up a staggering 61-run stand for the fourth wicket by smashing the ball to all parts of the ground and making a mockery of the Pune Warriors bowling attack.

While Raina hit 5 boundaries and lone six, Dhoni blasted his way to glory with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes to put up a dazzling show right at the end of the innings.

Earlier, Luke Wright proved instrumental in breaking a steady partnership between Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath by dismissing the latter.

Raina and Badrinath (34) put up a decent 75-run stand for the third wicket that stabilized the innings after the Super Kings lost openers Michael Hussey and Wriddhiman Saha early.

Hussey (5) was the first to be dismissed when the Aussie failed completely to judge Richardson's delivery and was comprehensively bowled.

Saha (13) then joined his fellow opener in the dug out when Rahul Sharma caught the Chennai batsman plumb in his failed attempt to sweep the delivery.

Then after a much needed stand, Badrinath was dismissed when he was caught at long-off by Steven Smith off the bowling of Wright.

Raina, however, continued his powerful innings by completing his half-century in 42 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and a lone six.

The Super Kings have made just one change for this match with Albie Morkel coming in place of Dirk Nannes. On the other hand, Pune bring in T Suman for Mithun Manhas.

Teams:

Pune Warriors: Robin Uthappa, Aaron Finch (Capt.), Yuvraj Singh, Luke Wright, Steven Smith, T Suman, Abhishek Nayar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Ashoke Dinda, Kane Richardson.

Chennai Super Kings: Wriddhiman Saha, Michael Hussey, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (Capt. & wk), Subramaniam Badrinath, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Albie Morkel, Chris Morris, R Ashwin, Mohit Sharma.
