McLaren gets rid of Mayank Agarwal

NEW DELHI: Chasing 155, Royal Challengers Bangalore received an early blow when they lost their opener Mayank Agarwal during IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Agarwal (6) edged the McLaren delivery straight to the wicket-keeper.

Scorecard

Earlier, disciplined bowling by Royal Challengers Bangalore in death overs restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 154/8.

Skipper Gautam Gambhir remained the top-scorer for the Knight Riders, making 59 runs off 46 balls.

RP Singh was the highest wicket-taker for Bangalore, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs.

Kolkata received an early blow to their innings when Manvinder Singh Bisla (1) was dismissed by Moises Henriques. Jacques Kallis and Gambhir then steadied Knight Riders, building a 51-run partnership for the second wicket.

Vinay Kumar struck to break the partnership and dismissed Kallis. Yusuf Pathan gave a cameo and hit a quick-fire 27 runs off 17 balls but Kumar struck again to get rid of the dangerous batsman.

Soon, Gambhir, Eoin Morgan and Manoj Tiwary fell in quick succession to leave the Knight Riders in a difficult position.

RCB's disciplined bowling restricted the Knight Riders' tailenders from scoring much in the last overs.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore elected to bowl against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

RCB have made one change, KL Rahul comes in for Murali Kartik.

Kolkata Knight Riders made three changes to their line-up. Pradeep Sangwan replaces Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Ryan McLaren is in for Brett Lee and Laxmipathy Balaji takes Shami Ahmed's place in the team.

Led by the energetic Virat Kohli, RCB trounced Hyderabad by 19 runs on Monday and the RCB skipper will be hoping that his men will not go haywire after making a good start, which was their story until the last IPL.

KKR, in contrast, have failed to capitalise on their good start having lost their last match to Rajasthan by 19 runs chasing a rather easy target of 145.
