Calling Harbhajan a backstabber, Sreesanth tweeted, "very disappointed that yesterday's incident is being compared to slap gate. I need to tell the world the truth, it wasn't my fault."
Sreesanth tweeted that the incident was planned and that Harbhajan never slapped him and claimed that when he went to shake his hand, the spinner lost his cool and hit him with his elbow.
He said in his tweets: "All blamed me for getting emotional ..??c mon who doesn't get emotional whn u know the person who u worship is a backstabbing person Nd .."
Sreesanth added, "Disgusting ..that's all I can say..u should get hold of the video..them u all will know te truth..wht he did is completely out of control."
The Kings XI Punjab lodged an official compliant to the IPL. The match referee Farokh Engineer found Harbhajan guilty of a level 4.2 offence.
The incident cost Harbhajan, who incidentally was the Mumbai Indians skipper, his entire fee and also got him banned from the tournament.
