Stating that Australia can pull a surprise summer win in the July Ashes, Warne said that although Clarke, Cook and South African cricketer Hashim Amla are the top three batsmen in current world cricket for him, Clarke is the best among them as he has the best imagination, the Daily Star reports.
According to the former spinner, Clarke is more comfortable and happier against the top spinners than the other two, adding that the Australian captain is a 'run machine' most of the time.
However, Warne said that even Clarke is not enough for winning the Ashes series, and added that for that all the 11 players in the team need to perform exceptionally well.
Warne further said that although England may be the current favourites to win the Ashes, however, Australia may spring a surprise on their rivals and go home with a win.
Although Cook is already England's all-time leading century maker and was recently acclaimed as the best batsman since Sir Don Bradman by New Zealand rival Brendon McCullum, he is only sixth in the world rankings, the report added.
