NEW DELHI: Pune Warriors India announced Angelo Mathews as their captain for IPL-6 on Thursday. Mathews who has been with the Warriors for the past two years, is the captain of Sri Lanka's ODI & Test teams.
Warriors also announced the coaching staff for the team. Allan Donald will be the head coach, Praveen Amre the assistant coach and Rob Walters the fitness trainer and the fielding coach of the team.
"We had many options to choose from but we picked Angelo Mathews as our captain as we are confident of his leadership abilities.
All the senior players in the team are happy with the choice and it is a joint decision taken by the senior players and team management," Sushanto Roy, MD, Sahara Adventure Sports Limited, said.
