Sachin Tendulkar had promised to spend more time with the family after retiring from cricket in 2013. Nearly 14 months after calling time on a 24-year international career, Tendulkar is busy fulfilling the vow he made to wife Anjali and their two kids, Arjun and Sara. The Little Master, holidaying in Mussoorie, celebrated New Year's Day feasting on bun omelets, paratha, curd and pickle.
Tendulkar, who bid an emotional farewell after playing his 200th and final Test against the West Indies in Mumbai in November, 2013 has since been in the news, pioneering several causes. A Member of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha, Tendulkar led a massive support campaign for controversial boxer Sarita Devi and actively participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Clean India Campaign".
Meanwhile, the Bharat Ratna also released his autobiography 'Playing It My Way' and stirred up a controversy with his recollection of Greg Chappell's tenure as India coach.
Tendulkar has also imparted crucial tips to India's new generation of batsmen, including Virat Kohli and the results are already showing in Australia. After a poor run in England, Kohli has so far amassed 499 runs from three Tests. (Kohli Surges Past Tendulkar on Twitter )
After watching his team Kerala Blasters lose to Sourav Ganguly's Atletico de Kolkata in the Indian Super League football final, Tendulkar packed his bags and flew to Mussoorie . Since quitting one-day internationals in 2012, this is Tendulkar's third trip to the scenic town. The Tendulkars are known to keep away from the hubbub of the major tourist attractions, preferring instead to go on long walks.
